KOMPUTER JADUL-, World-renowned industrial company Apple plans to launch the iPhone 17 Air which is projected to be the thinnest cellphone in history. According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple executives are targeting the iPhone 17 Air to be a device without a USB-C port.
In a report from Bloomberg's 'Power On' newsletter, Mark Gurman said the iPhone 17 Air would "signal a shift to slimmer phones without charging ports".
However, the idea was eventually shelved in order to appease European Union regulators, who urged Apple to adopt the USB-C standard like Android phones in general.
Mark Gurman said the iPhone 17 Air would bring major changes compared to previous iPhone models. The success of the device will be Apple's guideline in planning the company's future.
Apple will actually launch a cellphone without USB-C, then users will rely entirely on wireless charging.
For information, sales of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series continue to face the challenge of competition from Android phone manufacturers who are increasingly fierce in innovating. Experts assess that public interest in buying the iPhone series has decreased due to the lack of innovation in terms of design and technology.
However, throughout 2024, Apple still dominated the entire global HP market by 18.7% according to the IDC report. Samsung is in second place with a market share of 18% and is followed by so on.
