Rajawali Book - Militia in Lebanon and Israeli troops are again attacking each other fiercely despite agreeing to a ceasefire.

On Monday (2/12), Israel launched an attack on two cities in southern Lebanon, namely Talousa and Haris.

The attack left nine people dead and three injured, quoted from Reuters.

The Lebanese news agency also reported that Israeli troops fired two artillery shells towards the city of Beit Lif in the Bint Jbeil district and launched a heavy machine gun targeting Yaroun.

Israel claims the attack targeted dozens of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

The previous day, Israel also bombarded southern Lebanon. Authorities reported two people were killed as a result of the attack. Thus, the total death toll reached 11 people.

In response to the attack, Hezbollah did not remain silent. They launched missiles at Israeli military positions in Shebaa Farm.

Hezbollah called the response a "defensive warning" as quoted by Reuters.

The exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah showed that the ceasefire agreed to less than a week was fragile.

The ceasefire actually prohibits Israel from launching attacks on Lebanon. Meanwhile, Lebanon must prevent armed groups including Hezbollah from carrying out attacks on Israel.

Since the ceasefire was agreed, at least 54 violations have been recorded by Israel.

Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri then urged the committee tasked with monitoring the ceasefire to "immediately" ensure that Israel stops the violations.
