Rajawali Book - Marc Marquez named the top five MotoGP riders of all time.
The names are familiar to MotoGP fans.
The six-time premier class champion chose not to mention himself in the list of the best riders in MotoGP history.
"I will never include myself in this list," Marquez was quoted as saying by Gazzetta, Tuesday (3/12/2024).
Despite his frequent feuds with Rossi, Marquez still included him in the list of MotoGP legends.
"I would say Giacomo Agostini, Angel Nieto, Mick Doohan, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi," said Marquez.
Legend Agostini has 15 world championship titles from all classes and eight of his titles are in the premier class. It is not wrong if Marquez mentions him first.
Then, Angel Neito 13, won the most titles for a Spaniard.
Nieto is one of the legendary figures in the world of Grand Prix motorcycle racing.
Nieto has 13 world championship titles, which he himself calls 12+1 because he is quite superstitious.
Mick Doohan's name also appears. He won five MotoGP titles with Honda. He won it when the highest class used a 500cc motorbike in 1994, 1995, 1995, 1996, and 1997.
Then continued to Lorenzo, the racer who ended his career with Repsol Honda started appearing in the world championship in 2002.
17 years of racing on the track, hundreds of races and dozens of victories were achieved, which resulted in five world championship titles.
Finally, Valentino Rossi's name also came up. Rossi has won 9 world championship titles, 7 of which are in the 500cc/MotoGP class, and once each in the 125cc and 250cc classes.
During that time, he has taken part in 431 races, winning 115 times, finishing on the podium 235 times, achieving 65 pole positions and 96 fastest laps.
