RajawaliBook - Vice President and Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Kamala Harris said she has exercised her right to vote in the United States (US) Presidential Election. She said that the election ballots have been sent by post to her home state, California.

Harris said this while campaigning in the state of Michigan on Sunday (3/11/2024). The election ballots are on their way to California.

"I actually just filled out my ballot," Harris told reporters as reported by AFP, Monday (4/11/2024).

"(The letter) is on its way to California," she said.

As is known, the United States (US) Presidential Election will be held on November 5, 2024. Based on the survey results, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, is ahead of the Republican Party's presidential candidate, Donald Trump in the state of Iowa.

This survey was conducted by the Des Moines Register/Mediacom which was released on Saturday (2/11). The state of Iowa was previously won by Trump in the 2016 and 2020 elections.

The survey said the vote of women voters was responsible for the turnaround.

"The survey shows that women - especially those who are older or politically independent - are driving the recent turnaround toward Harris," the Des Moines Register survey release said, as reported by Reuters, Sunday (3/11/2024).

The survey was conducted on 808 prospective voters, which was conducted from October 28-31. The results of the survey showed Harris ahead of Trump with 47% of the vote, while Trump received 44% of the vote in Iowa.

The margin of error is within the range of 3.4 percent. This survey marks a turnaround from a survey conducted in September that put Trump with a 4-point lead in Iowa.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign released a memo from its chief pollster and chief data consultant calling the Des Moines Register survey “a clear outlier.” The Trump campaign said the Emerson College poll, also released Saturday, better reflected the state of Iowa’s electoral college.

The Emerson College Polling/RealClearDefense poll of the same likely voters was conducted on Nov. 1-2. The Emerson College Polling survey had a very different result, with Trump leading Harris by 10 points. It also had a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.

The Emerson College poll showed Trump leading Harris significantly among men and independents. Harris performed well among voters under 30.

Nationally, Harris and Trump appear locked in a tight race for the White House, with early voting underway. Election Day is Tuesday.

Whoever wins Iowa will collect six Electoral College votes. A total of 270 are needed to win the White House. Both parties have focused their efforts during the final days of their campaigns on “battleground” states such as North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.
